This jewellery is from the collections of Au bout des Reves, which are quite special as the designs are authentic antique French, reproduced from the original moulds created between 1829 and 1920.
This attractive, rectangular Art Nouveau brooch is enamelled plique-a-jour (meaning transparent or stained-glass effect) in blue and light green colours and set with aquamarine and Montana blue coloured Swarovski crystals. The metal framework of the brooch is French silver (silver plated copper or brass) and has been made from a stamping from an original French Art Nouveau mould.
- The brooch can be pinned to a coat or any other outer garment or even a soft hat (eg beret).
- Handmade by artisans so slight variations are possible between pieces of the same design.
- Nickel free.
- Made in France by Au bout des Reves.
- Dimensions: H 41mm L 56mm D 8mm
The Au bout des Reves workshop is situated in the east-central region of Auvergne-Rhone-Alpes. The original antique moulds, from which the stampings are made, are owned by French company Janvier Gruson Prat, situated in the Marais district of Paris. A traditional French silver plating technique is used to provide a hard wearing, antique-look silver finish to the stampings, before being enamelled and set with Swarovski crystals.
