French Music Boxes

Stéphane Dunoyer – artisan, designer, ceramicist, glass maker but above all, an artist. Stéphane creates beautiful, decorative objects in his workshop in Fontenay-sous-Bois, on the outskirts of Paris, France. His collections include music boxes in Limoges porcelain and crystal, and jewellery and office items in crystal glass.

Stéphane continues a family tradition of manufacture dating back to 1941 with his jeweller grandfather. In the 1950’s he manufactured watches under the brand Fanex. The son, Claude, took over the brand, initially making ceramics and later working with crystal and porcelain boxes. Claude’s wife has been a perfect fit for this creative environment, being an artist and having operated a successful and well known antique business in Paris. Although they have both officially retired, their artistic talents and workshop are still in use, keeping the brand Fanex alive through their son Stéphane. Carine, Stéphane’s wife, is also part of the brand on the business side, ensuring that all of these artistic energies are appropriately directed!
